Council’s key priorities remain the safety and wellbeing of staff and the community and continuity of services, as appropriate.
While the world we live in today can be viewed as beautiful, and at times breath-taking, in reality, the world is also cruel and merciless.
For Kahli Henderson-Powell, drawing birds has become a meditation on contemporary social and cultural issues. In Flightless Birds, she subtly addresses the harsh reality of our world. With every drawing, Kahli captures the rawness, yet seemingly beautiful way of the world. Like the world, Kahli’s drawings are highly aesthetic, but require an open-mind from the viewer, and a willingness to step out and look past the harsh lines and scribbles.
Kahli Henderson-Powell won the Tanks Arts Centre Curator’s Award at the Energy Exhibition in September last year. This is her first solo exhibition.
