Scotia Hennessy - The World of Differences
Fri 11 Dec - Sun 17 Jan
LAUNCH: 6pm, Friday 11 December
Scotia Hennessy paints people, pretty much at random. Whether they exist in the real world or not is neither here nor there. Because for Scotia, it’s all about the act of painting and the study of people.
“I find people fascinating and all so different from each other. This is my way to express my experiences with the different characters I meet and imagine. I get ideas when I look at the sky and from my head. I love colour and the emotions that the use of colour creates.”
Scotia is a young, emerging artist based in Cairns. She has a quick hand with a brush and likes to experiment with her materials, producing intriguing portraits that say volumes about Scotia’s particular view of the world and its people.
Scotia works from the Artists@work Studio on Sheridan Street, Cairns.
The By Myself Solo Series is a partnership initiative between Tanks Arts Centre and ARC Disability Services and has received funding from Arts Queensland Showcase Program.
