Nautilus Scuba Club - Underwater Photography Exhibition

Fri 22 May - Thu 11 Jun

The Tank 4 Gallery (exhibition space) is closed until further notice.

Council’s key priorities remain the safety and wellbeing of staff and the community and continuity of services, as appropriate.

Awards Night: 6:30pm, Thursday 11 June

This exhibition showcases underwater images from members of the Nautilus Scuba Club Cairns who have entered the club’s annual underwater photo competition.

The categories include Macro, Portrait, Wide Angle and Behaviour. They give the viewer a pictorial window into the fascinating creatures and scenery that exist beneath the surface of our oceans; not just on the Great Barrier Reef but from Indonesia, PNG, the Philippines and other diverse places our club members find to go diving.

There is also a themed category entitled “Great Barrier Reef”, (must show the beauty of the local reefs), and a Portfolio Category in which photographers enter a set of five images which demonstrate their skill across all the categories.

The images are judged by independent professional photographers/authors. This year we have Gary Bell and Mark Spencer, both with an impressive number of prestigious awards in the diving and video industry.
