Joanne Sisson and Helen Braun - Preserve
Wed 24 Jul - Sun 18 Aug
LAUNCH: Friday 16 August, 6pm
Given the current era of environmental change, how do we interpret the natural living world of flora and fauna differently? This is the central question to be explored by two Melbourne based visual artists during a month’s residency.
Joanne Sisson and Helen Braun will visually investigate a range of themes and possible associations between land-based botanical species and the underwater ecology of the Great Barrier Reef.
Joanne is a landscape and botanical painter, using oils, acrylic and pencil. Helen is a sculptor of ephemeral installations utilising paper, glass, paint and Perspex to produce explorations.
Helen and Joanne are well qualified, skilled and highly regarded artists, regularly exhibiting throughout Victoria.
