Embarking on a national tour Mau Power is celebrating his '10 Years Of Freedom' tour at the iconic Tanks Arts Centre supported by Melbourne classic cover rock band 'Rock Q'. This journey will celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the release of his debut album featuring the single 'Freedom' recorded with the legendary Archie Roach, as well as the release of his new single 'The Gift' from his upcoming album 'Enigma Decoded'.
A lyrical storyteller hailing from Thursday Island in the Torres Straits, Mau Power’s own story is one of redemption and freedom in itself. For many years Mau Power has been guided by two cultures - Indigenous culture and Hip Hop culture. His music has predominant themes of transition and change, largely due to Power’s own experience in understanding both his own culture plus the Hip Hop culture that he gravitated towards.
Mature, powerful, poetic, reflective, passionate and always stylish, Mau Power embodies the art of storytelling between two cultures making him a truly unique Australian act with universal appeal.
