Join Rose Watts for an observational drawing workshop using aspects of the fig tree near Tank 4 as a subject. This workshop invites participants to slow down and experience drawing as a focused practice.
Rose Watts is an interdisciplinary artist based in Atherton, Far North Queensland, whose work is generated from a love of drawing. Her current work is focused on interspecies communication and connection with the natural world, specifically trees.
Her exhibition Communing: Drawing and Video Installation explores the possibilities of interspecies communication. Drawing on data, sketches and recordings gathered at her Tanks Arts Centre residency (2025-26), Rose focused on the large fig tree (Ficus benjamina) in front of Tank 4.
