Lights, Camera Action! Workshops for 8-11 year olds

Sun 23 Feb - Sun 29 Mar

FILM PRODUCTION WORKSHOPS For Kids aged 8-11 years old

To assist our future young filmmakers, screenPLAY is running ‘LIGHTS, CAMERA ACTION’, a series of six workshops to help transform story ideas to the big screen. From story-telling, to film production and through to the final edit, the ‘LIGHTS CAMERA ACTION’ workshops will help to make your stories come to life.

Workshops will take place on six consecutive Sundays, commencing on Sunday 23 February and continue to Sunday 29 March, running from 9am to 12pm each week. Cost for the series of six workshops is $200 per person.

Workshops for 8-11 year olds will be held in Tank 5 and facilitated by local talented filmmaker Nick DeGabriele, a professional photographer who developed his interest in film production whilst working with local artists. Excited by the collaborative nature of filmmaking, Nick has followed this passion ever since. Having worked with many talented individuals on short and feature-length films, Nick’s enthusiasm for storytelling positions him well to pass this on to keen young filmmakers.

Have some fun and give it a go, come and learn stacks of skills and share your stories on the BIGSCREEN.

Limited spaces available. For more information please contact Jan Aird via email J.Aird@cairns.qld.gov.au or phone 4032 6650 to secure a place.
