The aim of the Cairns Tanks Events Crew is to stage a Live Youth Music Event Friday May 28th 2010 designed and run by the young people of the region. While working towards this event participants will gain industry skills and hands on experience in: Production: Organise the gig, the gear, and the people you need to make it happen. Programming: Listen to the band demos; choose the line up that will perform at the event. Promotion: Decide the publicity angle, come up with the marketing strategies and go get the media and crowd to your event. Sound & Lighting: Learn what plugs into what and how it works, how to set up the lighting, PA and mixing desk, and do a sound check.
The program will run for 10 weeks for 2 hours on a Wednesday afternoon from March 17 2010 (3.30pm -5.30pm).
You will need to attend all sessions and to be able to make your own way to the Babinda Taskforce. For more information about the program please call Lisa Christensen, Project Officer at the Tanks Arts Centre on 4032 6624.
