The best of our local print media artists alongside Australia´s most celebrated printmakers, at Tanks. Part of Cairns Festival.

Unquestionably, Cairns is a city of excellence in printmaking.  In the last decade, a proliferation of printmakers and print studios across the region reached critical mass, to the point that contemporary printmaking in the region can now be called a movement.  The incorporation of Inkmasters Cairns in 2011 was a watershed, representing a commitment by printmakers to unite and collaborate.   Inkfest is their first major project and a highlight of Cairns Festival. Roger Butler AM, Senior Curator of Australian Prints, Drawings and Illustrated Books at National Gallery of Australia, will present a talk at 5pm and speak at the exhibition at 6pm.
